FAB CONFERENCES are like no other conferences that you have been to. The whole conference is designed as a single coherent package. What you learn in the first session will connect and compound with every other session at the FAB conference! We believe in active learning, so be prepared to focus on the content and speak up during the Power Sessions. By the end of the conference, you will have a notebook full of take-home activities, a brain full of new ideas, and inspiration for your classroom!
Discounts available for JALT, ETJ, JII, KoTESOL, and iTECC members. Students, too! See details below.

Neuroscience for Teaching EFL Certificate Program: 15,000 yen for the hybrid learning certificate program. This pre-reading literally and figuratively puts us on the same page! We call this alignment --and the importance of alignment is immense. In fact, alignment is one of the core topics of neuroELT. So, for the sake of alignment, we are asking you to read the first three articles listed here! You should read the articles in the order that they are presented (start from the top).

If for some reason, you can only find time to read ONE article. Make sure you read the top one. The Maxims are the backbone of the entire conference. It is crucial that you have a good understanding of neuroELT maxims before you arrive at the venue. Most presenters will be linking their talks to the maxims, so you'll learn much more, and take home much more, if know the maxims before you get here!

After the three required reading, if you thirst for more (as many of you will!), I have an entire section of articles dedicated to the work of my good friend, Mary Helen Immordino-Yang who is doing brilliant work in the field of Mind, Brain, and Education (connecting neuroscience, psychology, and education). Mary Helen is currently at USC, being mentored by Antonio Damasio (USC), and was Kurt Fischer's doctoral student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
